Advisory Board
You are known by the company you keep. Locata is proud to be associated with some of the best and brightest minds in the GPS world. We have an active and growing Advisory Board of eminent, technical and commercially experienced members. The Advisory Board meets periodically to advise Locata management on global industry, market and business issues. Current members are:

KEITH McPHERSON - Director of Navigation, AirServices Australia
Keith is, without question, Australia’s most respected GPS expert, with a long string of global accomplishments which include:

Keith McPherson
  • Membership of the US National Advisory Board which reports directly to the US President. The US National Space-Based PNT Advisory Board is tasked with advising the US Government on matters concerning the Global Positioning System (GPS) and related systems – Keith McPherson is one of only 6 non-US members on this most prestigious of international GPS bodies - a brief Bio for Mr. McPherson is given on the US PNT Board web site: (http://pnt.gov/advisory/members/mcpherson.shtml).
  • He is Australia’s Delegate to the United Nations Panel of Experts on Navigation Systems;
  • In AirServices Australia (our equivalent of the American FAA), Keith is responsible for future development of all navigation applications for Australian aviation.
  • He was nominated in late 2007 by the industry’s prestigious GPS World Magazine as one of the “50 Global Leaders of GPS”. He has received numerous international GPS awards.
Keith became involved with (and fascinated by!) Locata technology via of a series of peer-review projects carried out by AirServices Australia. His vast experience and powerful global network will prove invaluable to Locata as we commercialize our technology throughout the world.

Tim Norton, B. Surv. - Omniton Pty Ltd
Tim Norton
Starting out as a surveyor in Victoria, the early days of GPS forced Tim to learn computing.  He went on to found and run Oakton, a very successful information technology services company. When he listed the company [ASX: OKN] 10 years later it had over 350 staff and a market capitalization of over A$80M. During his time with Oakton, Tim “filled every possible role in the company”.  Following the float, Tim founded a new company called Omniton that specializes in advising Australian IT companies in business and strategy issues. He is currently a non-executive director of several ASX-listed and non-listed companies. Tim is a wise, extremely experienced and respected business adviser to Locata’s management.
