A Brief Overview Of Our Company & Our TechnologyLocata Corporation Pty Ltd has developed unique new radio-location technology which provides precise positioning in difficult GPS environments. The company’s new technology solutions allow deployment of a network of terrestrially-based transceivers - called LocataLites - that transmit extremely precise ranging signals. LocataLites create a positioning network, called a LocataNet, “that looks exactly like GPS”. From a functional point of view, the LocataNet replicates the GPS satellite constellation – but on the ground. There is no other technology that can do this. A LocataNet is completely complimentary to GPS. It can operate in combination with GPS (e.g. open-cut mining, construction environments) or be completely independent of GPS (e.g. indoors). From a technical viewpoint, one very special property of the LocataNet is that it is time-synchronous to pico-seconds, which allows single-point positioning with centimeter-level accuracy. It achieves this incredible feat without requiring any atomic clocks, and without requiring the differential corrections networks and data links which must be provided for survey-grade GPS. Now, for the first time, precise radio-location can be achieved in industrial, urban and indoor environments. Locata’s combination of reliability, adaptability and precision gives unique new radio-location possibilities to many markets where GPS-style positioning had previously been difficult or impossible. This makes Locata a valuable new tool in many large global markets. Early adopters of Locata technology already include the U.S. military, open-cut mining, the construction, machine control and structural deformation markets. Locata enables our global integration partners to design reliable solutions for the many industrial, urban and indoor areas where GPS fails. Locata solves many technology problems in machine control for industry, asset tracking, supply-chain management, the military, engineering, emergency services, robotics, mobile phones, consumer devices, and more. Market demand for Locata’s new systems is growing strongly. The industry’s acceptance comes from an understanding that our inventions are important fundamental advances in GPS-style radio-location technology. These advances are certainly non-trivial, and elicit glowing praise from independent experts that have examined our developments. For example, Australia’s representative to the United Nations’ Navigation Panel of Experts recently wrote: “The enormity of the technical achievement should not be underestimated”. One of the world’s most respected GPS-positioning companies recently stated: “…we see Locata as a potentially disruptive entrant in our industry”. The Manager of Tracking for one of Australia’s biggest supply-chain management companies has written: “Locata is unique. I have never before come across a technology that has no equivalents or direct competitors, yet is such a fundamental and disruptive advance for an entire industry.” For a newly emergent technology, Locata has already earned outstanding and verifiable credentials - and the accolades are growing. Locata currently has 32 granted patents on the devices and systems which advance radio-location technology to new levels. Over 60 more patents have been applied for… and many more are yet to come. Locata Corporation Pty Ltd is a privately-owned company with headquarters in Canberra, Australia - the nation’s capital. Locata Corporation Inc – a wholly-owned American subsidiary – is a Delaware registered corporation with local staff to service US clients such as the US Air Force, Trimble, Caterpillar and other US partners currently negotiating technology relationships. |
